Testimonials

Excellent recovery/deep tissue massage, every time. Bi-weekly massage by Leigh is now a part of my workout program. Leigh's technique (sustained pressure) is very effective at targeting problem areas. For someone who is trying to return to weight lifting after many years (and much older muscles!), Leigh's massages are an absolute must. Highly recommend for athletes.

I first started seeing Leigh about 6 years ago.  Soon after meeting her, I started practicing yoga on a regular basis.  My monthly appointments have helped me to have a better practice by freeing my muscles from pain.   Leigh has a great understanding of how the body works, and how each muscle affects other muscles.  She has helped my chronic hip pain, lower back pain and my tension headaches.  Leigh has a beautiful, relaxing room that adds to the whole experience.  She always asks me how I am feeling, and where I would like her to focus that day.  She also has a great choice of scents to use.  Leigh is attentive to my needs, and always individualizes my care.  She often checks in with me a few days after my massage to see how I am feeling.  Leigh obviously loves what she does, and demonstrates that with each massage.  I highly recommend giving yourself the gift of a massage from Leigh.

I have been seeing Leigh for about 4 years now on a monthly basis. Since my days as a university student, massage therapy has always been a key component to maintaining good physical health for me, as I've had back problems since I was 14 years old. Regular massage has helped lessen my chronic headaches, improved my posture and helped to keep me physically well enough to work at jobs that can be physically strenuous.

I did not have a massage therapist when I moved to this area, and I went many months without getting regular massage. Leigh was recommended to me by an acquaintance because I had some chronic tension that I could not get rid of, and through some pretty intense massage work and the use of some cupping techniques, Leigh was able to get me back up and functioning again and I have been seeing her monthly ever since! In addition, when I find myself with tension that is painful and that I can't work out myself, I will often text Leigh for an emergency appointment. She has always been incredibly understanding and accommodating about fitting me in at the last minute when I've sent her an SOS.

Leigh is very good at what she does; she is professional,  respectful of my privacy and modesty, and she is friendly and engaging (but also seems to know when I need to just enjoy the quiet). I would not be able to manage without seeing her every month and I am certainly healthier in body and mind because of her.

My husband and I relocated to PA two years ago.  In CA I had a wonderful massage therapist who I saw monthly and I just loved.  I went without massage for a year after moving here because I didn't want to just haphazardly try out massage therapists.  I have multiple sclerosis (for 22 years) and have muscle spasticity which is helped by massage.  I asked a friend if she knew of a massage therapist and as she said, "Yes!" I could see her body relax!  (I thought to myself, that is a very good sign!)  I called for an appointment and met Leigh.

I knew I had found my new massage therapist after my first session!  Her massage room is located in a chiropractor's office and is quiet with soothing background music.  Leigh asked me what instrument I liked and chose music that matched my preference.  (Leigh has a background in music therapy as well.)  She checked in with me to find out where I felt I needed massage and also checked to see if I had any conditions she should be aware of.

I have been seeing Leigh for about a year now; I try to see her every four weeks.  I cannot say enough about her professionalism and willingness to receive feedback from me.  I am truly blessed to have found her.

I treat myself to a massage with Leigh every five to six weeks. It’s one of the ways I take care of myself. I always leave feeling better than I walked in. Leigh is a very positive, compassionate and nurturing person. Recently, I scheduled an extra session because of an injury to my back. Leigh encouraged me to see Dr. Rob. I’m so glad I did. I wouldn’t have done it on my own. She was genuinely concerned about me. Walking into the massage room is like walking into a cocoon. It’s such a soothing atmosphere and adds to the whole experience.

My doctor recommended regular massage therapy sessions after several visits to him with complaints of upper back stiffness and pain. Apparently my tight muscles were directly related to stress. Now all I had to do was find a massage therapist. I had had only one massage in my life at a spa and that experience was far from soothing. I was not comfortable with the setting or the therapist. A flyer in my mailbox from Leigh DeTato proved to be just what I needed. After my initial visit I knew that this was just what the doctor ordered. Regular massage has relieved my tension, stiffness and pain. I sleep so much better! The atomsphere Leigh has created is sooting, comfortable and inviting. I have been a client for over a year now and look forward to each visit. Regular massage sessions with Leigh has made a real difference in my life. Thank you Leigh!

Almost a year ago I fell while pulling weeds in my garden.  The fall sent shock waves from the bottom of my spine to the very top, and the pain was excruciating.  After visits to various medical professionals with only limited pain relief, I discovered Leigh DeTato's Hands of Change.  After massage treatments every two weeks for the past few months, I am essentially pain free.  I find that Leigh has a gift in finding the exact location of the tightness and pain - and then relieving that pain.
